Qualifications

  • Experience providing a support service to adults with mental health difficulties/in emotional distress and maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience and/or training in deescalating challenging behaviour.
  • A positive attitude towards people with mental health problems and change.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional support to individuals referred to Safe Haven.
  • Welcome new referrals, perform initial assessments, and maintain accurate case records.
  • Collaborate with statutory mental health services, including out-of-hours crisis teams.
  • Offer individual guidance and support for onward links (housing, benefits, substance misuse).
  • Ensure wellbeing and safety of service users and report concerns to line manager.
