Job summary

Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking a motivated candidate for the role of Triage Officer within the Housing Team. The successful applicant will be the first point of contact for people in crisis, delivering robust triage services with a focus on people at risk of homelessness and those already affected.

The role involves working with the Homelessness Service, key partners, and statutory agencies to provide excellent advice and assistance, in a flexible, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a housing service or a similar front line customer focussed role.
• Excellent communication skills and strong organisational abilities.
• First point of contact for people in crisis.
• Experience in partnership working with statutory and non-statutory agencies would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide robust triage service to individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
• Collaborate with Homelessness Service, partners and statutory agencies to support customers.
• Deliver excellent advice and assistance to customers at the first point of contact.
