Job summary

Paston Sixth Form College in North Walsham is seeking a Lecturer in Social Sciences (Criminology). The role is 0.4 FTE on a fixed term until 31 July 2027, working Wednesdays and Thursdays.

You will deliver high-quality teaching, monitor student progress and contribute to curriculum development in a collaborative learning environment. The ideal candidate holds a relevant honours degree in a Social Science and is a qualified teacher or committed to gaining teaching qualifications; EPQ delivery

Qualifications

• Honours degree in a Social Science subject (Sociology/Criminology/Psychology).
• Qualified teacher or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
• Recent post-16 teaching experience and ability to deliver Criminology courses.
• Experience with EPQ delivery and data-informed progression monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching across Social Sciences, focusing on Criminology.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning programmes to achieve excellent outcomes.
• Monitor attendance and progression; intervene to support learners.
• Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
• Participate in open events, enrolment activities and student recruitment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support learner success and continuous improvement.
• Ensure safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and data protection compliance.
