Paston Sixth Form College is seeking a passionate Lecturer in Social Sciences (Criminology) to deliver high-quality teaching to post-16 students. The successful candidate will have a strong subject background, a commitment to outstanding teaching, and experience supporting EPQ delivery in a collaborative college

Qualifications

• Honours degree in a Social Science subject (e.g., Sociology, Psychology, Criminology).
• Qualified teacher or working towards a teaching qualification.
• Recent experience delivering high-quality teaching in post-16 education.
• Ability to support EPQ delivery.
• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of assessment requirements in Social Sciences.
• Ability to deliver engaging, inclusive learning that motivates students.
• Proven track record of supporting high levels of student achievement and progression.
• Proactive use of data to monitor performance and improve outcomes.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding teaching across Social Sciences courses to post-16 learners.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning programmes to achieve excellent outcomes.
• Monitor attendance, progress and achievement, providing timely interventions.
• Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
• Participate in enrolment events, interviews and student recruitment initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support learner success and continuous improvement.
• Ensure safeguarding, equality and health and safety compliance.
