Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Regularly reviewing cases and ensuring matters progress efficiently.

  • Preparing bills for private clients and submitting interim payment claims to the Legal Aid Agency where appropriate.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in criminal law and practice.
  • Attending relevant training and professional development courses.
  • Participating in the firm's 24-hour emergency line when required.
  • Managing deadlines and prioritising competing demands effectively.

Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Experience in criminal law and Legal Aid practice
  • Advocacy experience
  • Good knowledge of criminal legal procedures
  • Experience managing your own caseload with limited supervision
  • Strong client care and communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Understanding of legal billing procedures
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
