Job summary

Slater Heelis is seeking a Solicitor with 3–8 years' PQE to join its Crime & Regulatory team. You will handle a varied caseload advising individuals and businesses on magistrates' and crown court matters, as well as regulatory investigations and enforcement.

This client-facing role offers significant responsibility from day one, opportunities to develop advocacy skills and build lasting client relationships within a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years' PQE gained within criminal law.
• Experience in managing own caseload with minimal supervision.
• Confident appearing before the Magistrates' Court and supporting Crown Court proceedings.
• Excellent communication and client care skills.
• Highly organised, resilient and commercially minded.
• Experience in regulatory law or professional discipline advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Handle a varied caseload including Magistrates' Court and Crown Court matters.
• Advise individuals and businesses on regulatory investigations and enforcement.
• Represent clients at police stations and advisory/pre-charge work.
• Manage complex, high-profile cases alongside senior team members.
• Develop advocacy skills and build lasting client relationships.
