A leading organization in Devon is seeking a Criminal Justice Team Leader to oversee the delivery of services, manage teams, and collaborate with partner agencies. This part-time role offers a chance to make a significant impact on community support and recovery efforts.
Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support.
We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.
Bringing together two big organisations is not a small task and it’ll take a while to fully integrate our systems, processes and approaches. That’s why you will notice the jobs here are still branded ‘Humankind’. Next year we’ll be fully integrating our recruitment systems but for now they are separate.
Criminal Justice Team Leader
Location: Devon

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the successful and established Criminal Justice Team for Devon as part of Together Drug and Alcohol Service. You will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of all aspects of the criminal justice service, providing line management, case load over site, KPI monitoring and be an integral connection and support to the partner agencies we work so closely with.

We would welcome your application if you are a creative, hard working, team player with a vision for leadership and gaining results.
This is a part time role (18.5 hours per week) with a permanent contract.

A "Day in the life" from a current Criminal Justice Team Lead:
" No two days are ever the same in the Criminal Justice Team – and that’s exactly what makes the work so dynamic and rewarding.
As a Criminal Justice Team Leader, each day starts with a clear purpose. Mornings may begin with a team check-in, where priorities are discussed, urgent cases identified, and support needs addressed. The rest of the day can be as varied as the individuals we support. One moment you might be coaching a team member through a complex client case or facilitating a reflective supervision session. The next, you could be reviewing service data to ensure performance indicators are being met or working with the Criminal Justice Manager to refine a process that improves efficiency or enhances service delivery. Another aspect of Team Leader Day is multi-agency meetings, responding to emerging safeguarding concerns, or supporting a recovery worker through a challenging day.
The Criminal Justice Team Leader role involves working closely with a range of key partners and professional settings, including Probation services, court systems, police custody suites, and other criminal justice agencies.
Ultimately, being a Criminal Justice Team Leader means shaping a service that changes lives – for the people we support and the professionals delivering that support. It’s a role full of challenges, growth, and the daily reminder that meaningful change is always possible. "
