Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our Liaison and Diversion team. HCPC-registered therapists with an interest in health and justice are welcome; experience in criminal justice is desirable but not essential.

The role involves identifying health needs, supporting people in police custody and courts, and delivering SLT assessments and training across Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Formación

• Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree.
• HCPC registration to practise.
• Registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Significant Band 5 level experience in a community setting.

Responsabilidades

• Support the delivery of the Speech & Language pathway in line with the L&D agenda.
• Maintain a specialist SLT portfolio and provide expert advice to therapists and MDT across Thames Valley; supply written information for police and court.
• Attend police stations, custody suites, community settings and magistrates courts to provide SLT assessments and identify robust care pathways.
• Work closely with referring agencies in custody, court and probation; act as single point of contact.
• Deliver specialist training within Criminal Justice pathways to custody sergeants, magistrates and crown court stakeholders.
• Work autonomously and manage own time according to delegated workload.
