Job summary

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in Crawley, United Kingdom, is seeking an experienced Practitioner for the Sussex Health & Justice Liaison & Diversion Service. Qualifications

• Post-registration experience with evidence of formal courses and training at diploma/degree level.
• BSc degree in nursing or equivalent level.
• Qualification in providing supervision.
• Extensive post-registration experience with mental health difficulties and complex needs.
• Experience in community settings and autonomous decision-making.
• Lived experience of criminal justice, care systems or vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

Job summary We are seeking an experienced and motivated Practitioner to join the Sussex Health & Justice Liaison & Diversion Service. Working within Police Custody settings across Sussex, you will assess adults, children, and young people who may be experiencing mental health difficulties, learning disabilities, substance misuse, or other social vulnerabilities. Your interventions will help ensure individuals are identified early, connected with the right services, and supported to achieve better outcomes. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with police, courts, healthcare professionals, and community partners, using your clinical expertise to influence decision-making and ensure people receive the right care at the right time. We’re looking for an experienced, compassionate practitioner with excellent assessment and risk management skills, a collaborative approach, and a passion for improving lives. Please note you will be required to meet the travel requirements of the community role.

Main duties of the job

• Lived experience of the criminal justice system, care system or vulnerabilities
