Job summary

Morgan Hunt in London is seeking a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker for a Croydon-based, office-based role. The position runs Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, 37.5 hours, on a 3-month temporary basis within substance misuse/criminal justice services.

The role involves producing court reports, managing a caseload, completing assessments and delivering recovery-focused and harm-reduction support to clients with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Criminal Justice / Probation experience or strong Substance Misuse Recovery experience.
• Understanding of the Criminal Justice System.
• Experience working with complex needs and safeguarding.

• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Confident engaging with service users and partner agencies.
• Good onboarding and training provided - so candidates with strong substance misuse experience but less direct criminal justice experience will still be considered.

PAY DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE - UMBRELLA

• Less than 12 months: £16-£18ph
• 1-3 years: £18-£20ph
• 3+ years: Up to £22ph

We're looking for a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker to join a well-established substance misuse charity in South London.

The ideal candidate will have Criminal Justice experience, although they would also consider someone with a strong Substance Misuse / Recovery background who has a good understanding of the criminal justice system.

You'll be working with:

• Prison leavers
• Referrals from Probation
• Court referrals
• Clients with substance misuse and complex needs

A key part of the role will be producing reports for the courts, alongside managing a caseload, completing assessments and providing recovery-focused and harm-reduction support.

The role is based from the Croydon office, with regular visits to two local courts, both within walking distance of the office.
