A leading organization focused on breaking down barriers to support is seeking a Criminal Justice Recovery Coordinator. This role involves working closely with law enforcement to assist individuals in their recovery journey from substance misuse while minimizing reoffending. The coordinator will adopt a holistic approach, ensuring comprehensive care for service users, and contribute to making a real difference in the community.
Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support.
We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.
Bringing together two big organisations is not a small task and it’ll take a while to fully integrate our systems, processes and approaches. That’s why you will notice the jobs here are still branded ‘Humankind’. Next year we’ll be fully integrating our recruitment systems but for now they are separate.

About The Role
As an IOM Coordinator, you will work closely with Police and Probation colleagues to support members of the public who may have transgressed the law, you will support to reduce their reoffending and help facilitate their recovery journey.
You will offer care coordination, advice, support and guidance to these individuals, as to the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse. With support from the wider Recovery Coordination team you will offer tailored guidance in minimising harmful behaviour and, if required, support those into service should they need more substantial support.
You will take a “whole person” holistic approach, ensuring that every service users package of care encompasses all areas of their wellbeing, not just their substance use, to achieve the best possible outcomes for every person. The IOM unit in County Durham is part of the Safe Durham Partnership. They support prolific offenders to reduce their offending by addressing their criminogenic needs.
