Job summary

Triumph Consultants Ltd is seeking an experienced Investigating Support Officer for an office-based, six-month assignment in Wales. You will support serious and complex criminal investigations, working with SIOs to progress enquiries, gather and review evidence, and manage evidential material.

Key requirements include PIP2 experience (or demonstrable past experience), HOLMES/niche proficiency, and a strong grasp of disclosure procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of an investigation team to gather, review and present evidence.
• Coordinate house-to-house and CCTV enquiries; manage CCTV evidence.
• Obtain accurate statements from victims and witnesses per legislation and procedures.
• Manage exhibits: submission, transport, movement tracking and court preparation.
• Support CPIA disclosure activities and assist with CPS/defence disclosure when appropriate.
• Review information from CCTV, house-to-house enquiries, digital downloads and third-party sources.
• Assist with investigation research, file preparation and submissions to the Crown Prosecution Service.
• Use NICHE and HOLMES; maintain records relating to disclosure and exhibits.
• Assist with suspect and witness interviews where trained; liaise with SIO and CPS for court appearances.

Pay Rate: £17.50 per hour PAYE, with flexible holiday pay

Hours: 37 hours (Part time considered - min 20 hours per week)

Length of Contract: 6 months

OFFICE BASED ONLY

We are seeking an experienced Investigating Support Officer to provide essential support to the investigation of serious and complex criminal offences. The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Investigating Officers (SIOs), progressing enquiries, gathering and reviewing evidence, and supporting the recovery and management of evidential material.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced investigation professional with PIP2 and HOLMES experience to support serious and complex criminal investigations within a busy investigative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Work as part of an investigation team, gathering, reviewing and presenting evidence to support complex investigations.

Conduct and coordinate house-to-house and CCTV enquiries, including the capture, seizure and management of CCTV evidence.

Obtain accurate and concise statements and evidence from victims and witnesses in accordance with relevant legislation and procedures.

Manage exhibits, including submission, transportation, movement tracking, forensic testing and preparation for court.

Support disclosure activity in line with CPIA requirements, including reviewing material and assisting with disclosure to the CPS and defence where appropriate.

Review information from CCTV, house-to-house enquiries, digital downloads and third-party sources.

Assist with investigation research, file preparation and submissions to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Use relevant force systems, including NICHE and HOLMES, and maintain accurate records relating to disclosure and exhibits.

Assist with suspect and witness interviews where appropriately trained and accredited.

Attend court and provide verbal evidence when required, while liaising with the SIO and CPS.

PIP Level 1 trained, or demonstrable previous investigative experience; PIP Level 2 preferred.

Experience of investigating crime/offending behaviour, or working within law enforcement or the criminal justice environment.

Practical experience using HOLMES and relevant investigation systems.

Experience handling sensitive material professionally, ethically and confidentially.

Strong understanding of evidential processes, disclosure and relevant legislation.

Ability to work to challenging deadlines, prioritise competing demands and perform effectively under pressure.
