Job summary

TUI Airways in the United Kingdom seeks a Crew Training Executive to plan and optimise training rosters for Flight and Cabin Crew in the Northern Region. You will ensure compliance with legal agreements, manage budgetary constraints, and act as the primary contact for Trainers and crew training queries outside of ordinary hours.

The role is onsite at our Luton Head Office with 4 on/4 off shifts from 07:00–19:00.

Qualifications

  • IT literate with GCSE/O’ Level or equivalent.
  • Proven experience within an airline crewing/training environment is desirable.
  • Understanding of airline legal agreements would be preferable.
  • Process- and detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound judgments.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ambassador of change who suggests improvements.
  • Customer service experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and coordination of training requirements for Flight and Cabin Crew within budgetary constraints.
  • Manage ad hoc training requests, entrant programs, and training courses using Crewing and Rostering expertise.
  • Collaborate with Manpower Planning, Crew Planning, Airline Operations, and Flight Operations Training teams to optimise training plans.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and ensure cost-effective utilisation of resources.
  • Plan training activities in line with budget and ensure regulatory compliance (EASA) and Flight Time Limitation schemes.
  • Coordinate schedules with Manpower Planning and Training departments and manage ad hoc requests.

Job description

As a Crew Training Executive at TUI Airways, you will play a critical role in the planning and rostering of our comprehensive training programs for all Flight and Cabin Crew in the Northern Region. Your primary objective will be to continually monitor and optimise crew rosters, effectively utilising crew resources to minimise operational disruptions. This involves ensuring that all training requirements comply with legal and industrial agreements, while adhering to budgetary constraints. Reporting to the Flight Crew Training Team Leader, you will be the primary point of contact for all Trainers and crew training-related queries outside of normal office hours.

This role involves working on a shift basis: 4 on/4 off from 0700-1900. The role is based fully onsite in our Luton Head Office.

Please note this role focusses on the production of robust, optimised training schedules for our flight and cabin crew. It is not a training development or training delivery role.

About The Job
  • Lead the planning and coordination of all training requirements for both Flight and Cabin Crew, ensuring compliance with legal and industrial agreements while meeting budgetary constraints within the published roster
  • Leverage your expertise in Crewing, Roster Maintenance, and Crew Training environments to effectively manage ad hoc training requests, new entrant programs, command and type rating courses, RHS flying, and recurrent and conversion training
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders such as Manpower Planning, Crew Planning, Airline Operations, and Flight Operations Training teams. Ensure clarity, provide input, and offer appropriate challenges to optimise training plans
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Flight Operations Nominated Person and the Flight Crew Training Nominated Person. Ensure efficient and cost-effective utilisation of resources to successfully deliver the training plan
  • Strategically plan and coordinate all training requirements and associated duties for both Flight and Cabin Crew communities
  • Work collaboratively with Crew Planning colleagues to align training schedules with the plans produced by Manpower Planning and Flight Operations Training departments
  • Efficiently manage and facilitate ad hoc training requests as directed by Training Managers
  • Organise and roster all elements of the training plan within TUI Airways, ensuring strict compliance with legal and industrial agreements
  • Plan training activities in line with budgetary constraints, ensuring operational stability and considering future implications of training event planning and replanning
  • Conduct thorough legality validation checks to ensure adherence to all European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations and the company Flight Time Limitation scheme
  • Perform quality analysis on various training activities to maximize the effectiveness and benefits of the training plan
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with Manpower Planning, Crew Planning, and Flight Operations Training teams to ensure alignment and clarity of the training plan
  • Build robust relationships with stakeholders to understand, input, and appropriately challenge the training plan. Ensure the successful delivery of the training program while utilising resources efficiently and cost-effectively.
About You

  • Previous experience in a customer service based role is advantageous
