Job summary

Star Pubs, part of The HEINEKEN Company, seeks Credit Risk Controllers in Edinburgh. The role focuses on managing credit risk across regional pubs, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring timely payments and compliant collections.

Ideal candidates will handle numbers confidently, use Excel and Power BI, and work within a team dedicated to keeping pubs trading while minimising credit risk.

Qualifications

• Comfortable working with numbers and bank reconciliations.
• Solid Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication to manage internal and external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail with accurate record-keeping.
• Experience with MI reporting and Power BI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with leased pub operators and collect payments, monitoring debt.
• Ensure compliance with Credit Policy and Pubs Code.
• Collaborate with Field-based BDMs and Regional Operations Directors to make informed credit decisions.
• Produce MI reports and support monthly performance reviews.

Function: Finance - Star Pubs

Location: Edinburgh City Centre (a mix of office and home working)

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 base depending on experience, plus full benefits listed below.

Contract: Multiple roles with a mixture of Permanent and 9-month fixed-term contract opportunities

There's so much more to HEINEKEN than meets the eye and right now, we're looking for a number of Credit Risk Controllers to join our Star Pubs Finance team in Edinburgh.

About The Role

Credit Control is more than simply collecting payments. Building strong relationships with our customers and colleagues to keep pubs open and trading is essential to the success of Star Pubs. Our team of Credit Risk Controllers are each aligned to a regional area of the UK and build strong ongoing relationships with our leased pub operators. Credit Controllers collect payment for drinks orders and rent and agree and monitor repayment plans for debt. Working closely with our field-based Business Development Managers and Regional Operations Directors, you will ensure that the right commercial decisions are taken to keep our pubs trading while minimising credit risk, always ensuring compliance with Credit Policy and Pubs Code.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can hold confident and robust conversations with our customers. Making decisions that benefit both us and the outlets and working at pace will be key.

If you;

• Are comfortable working with numbers and bank reconciliations


• Have a good understanding of the Microsoft Suite including Excel


• Can build relationships with internal and external stakeholders through great communication skills


• Have an eye for detail and can maintain accurate records


• Experience with MI Reporting and Power BI would be fantastic, though not essential
