Job summary

HEINEKEN UK’s Star Pubs team in Edinburgh seeks a Credit Risk Controller to manage debt collection, payments, and repayment plans. You will work closely with field managers to balance commercial decisions with risk control, while maintaining compliance and accurate MI data.

The role offers hybrid working with a mix of office and home days and provides ongoing training and opportunities for career development within Star Pubs Finance.

Qualifications

• Comfortable working with numbers and bank reconciliations.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Excel and the wider Office suite.
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders through clear communication.
• Eye for detail with accurate record keeping.
• Experience with MI reporting and Power BI is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage credit control activities to support Star Pubs in Edinburgh.
• Monitor repayment plans and maintain records to minimise credit risk.
• Collaborate with Finance, Business Development Managers, and Regional Directors.
• Ensure compliance with Credit Policy and Pubs Code in day-to-day operations.

Function: Finance - Star Pubs

Location: Edinburgh City Centre (a mix of office and home working)

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 base depending on experience, plus full benefits listed below.

Contract: Multiple roles with a mixture of Permanent and 9-month fixed-term contract opportunities

About the role

Credit Control is more than simply collecting payments. Building strong relationships with our customers and colleagues to keep pubs open and trading is essential to the success of Star Pubs. Our team of Credit Risk Controllers are each aligned to a regional area of the UK and build strong ongoing relationships with our leased pub operators. Credit Controllers collect payment for drinks orders and rent and agree and monitor repayment plans for debt. Working closely with our field-based Business Development Managers and Regional Operations Directors, you will ensure that the right commercial decisions are taken to keep our pubs trading while minimising credit risk, always ensuring compliance with Credit Policy and Pubs Code.

Who we’re looking for

• Are comfortable working with numbers and bank reconciliations
• Have a good understanding of the Microsoft Suite including Excel
• Can build relationships with internal and external stakeholders through great communication skills
• Have an eye for detail and can maintain accurate records
• Experience with MI Reporting and Power BI would be fantastic, though not essential
