Job summary

Cygnet Health Care is seeking a Credit Controller to join the Head Office Finance team at the Kingshill office. This 12 months’ FTC covers maternity leave and focuses on collecting revenue for a high value ledger.

You will chase debt, resolve queries, and support month-end processes while maintaining strong customer relationships. Hybrid working with in-office and WFH days is offered.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience of credit control is desirable. Also experience of accounts receivable procedures would be beneficial.
• Working with large data sets, comfortable with manipulating excel spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Chasing debt by email and occasionally phone to ensure invoices are paid within terms.
• Keep overdue debt to a minimum with clear notes and next steps.
• Deal with complex queries and follow the resolution/escalation process.
• Raise credit requests in line with policy and timely credit notes.
• Identify delays or high‑risk issues and discuss with Senior/Manager.
• Attend weekly 1:1s for debtor review and monthly cash target tracking.
• Reconcile large data sets and analyse customer accounts.
• Build relationships with customers and deliver efficient service.
• Prioritise workload and support team during busy periods.

Cygnet Health Care is one of the UK’s largest independent providers of mental health care. Cygnet is looking to appoint a Credit Controller to join our growing Head Office Finance team based in Kingshill office.

Please note this is a 12 months’ FTC covering Maternity Leave.

Purpose Of The Role

This is a role within the Healthcare Credit Control team as a Credit Controller working on the FT ledger. This role ensures all revenue is collected in a timely fashion on a high volume/high value ledger and dealing with the associated queries that come up.

Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To

• Chasing debt by email and sometimes phone. You will have a set of accounts to chase, and ensure all invoices are chased and paid in accordance with our payment terms.
• Ensuring overdue debt is kept to a minimum with clear status notes and plan on next steps.
• Dealing with a high level of complex queries and following the query resolution and escalation process.
• Raising credit requests in line with the credit note policy in a timely manner.
• To identify any potential delays or high‑risk issues on an account and discussing this with the Senior or Credit Control Manager.
• To attend weekly 1:1’s with the team manager to go through a debtor review, ensuring the monthly cash targets are being achieved.
• Good eye for reconciliation and analysis of large groups of data.
• Building good relationships with customers and ensuring an efficient service is being delivered.
• Being able to manage and prioritise your workload in a busy environment.
• Supporting all team members when necessary and during key financial periods.

Experience
