Job summary

Crown Paints in Darwen, Lancashire is seeking a Credit Controller to join our Finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract. You will manage customer accounts, chase overdue payments and maintain strong relationships with our customers.

This hybrid role requires strong numeracy, communication and problem solving, plus experience in Credit Control. You will collaborate with Sales, Customer Service and Finance to keep accounts accurate and payments flowing.

Qualifications

• Experience in Credit Control or Accounts Receivable in finance.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for difficult conversations.
• Proactive, organised approach with ability to prioritise tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail and confidence with numbers.
• Proficient Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems.
• Experience with SAP or Microsoft ERP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts, monitor balances and collect overdue payments.
• Build positive relationships with customers and negotiate workable solutions.
• Investigate invoice, pricing and account queries to keep payments moving.
• Review aged debt reports, identify risks and help reduce overdue balances.
• Allocate payments, reconcile accounts and maintain accurate records.
• Monitor payment plans, manage holds and escalate complex cases.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service and Finance to improve processes.
