Job summary

Crown Paints is seeking a Credit Controller for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Darwen, Lancashire. The role is hybrid, with three days in the office and two days remote, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm.

You will manage customer accounts, collect overdue payments, and build strong relationships to support business cash flow. The ideal candidate has experience in credit control or accounts receivable, strong communication and negotiation skills, and a detail-oriented, proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in Credit Control or Accounts Receivable.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proactive and organised approach with ability to manage priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts and monitor outstanding balances.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships and negotiate solutions.
• Investigate and resolve invoice, pricing and account queries to keep payments moving.
• Review aged debt reports to identify risks and reduce overdue balances.
• Allocate payments, reconcile accounts and maintain accurate records.
• Agree and monitor payment plans; escalate complex cases as needed.
• Collaborate with different teams to improve processes.
