Job summary

BCA, the UK’s largest B2B used vehicle service and part of the Constellation Automotive Group, is hiring a Credit Controller on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This hybrid role is based at Blackbushe with 2 days a week in the office, offering a salary up to £29,000 and 40-hour weeks.

You will drive cash collections by contacting customers by phone and email, resolve payment queries, and escalate where necessary. The team emphasizes excellent customer service and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in credit control or debt collection in a fast-paced, high-volume call center environment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with customers.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Chase late payments by phone and email (60–100 calls/day).
• Build relationships to secure timely payments.
• Identify reasons for non-payment and resolve.
• Escalate issues to Legal Recoveries Manager.
• Refer accounts for further action with external partners.
• Monitor actions and respond to information requests.
• Seek approval for further action and costs.
• Suggest process improvements to streamline service.

Main Purpose of The Role:

Due to increased workload, we are looking for a Credit Controller to join our busy team on a 6-month Fixed-Term-Contract. Your role is to drive cash collections through positive engagement with our customers, providing best in class customer service to support the resolution of queries, minimising payment delays and ensuring the timely release of vehicles after point of payment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Debt Chasing:Chasing customer via phone and email to discuss late payments – 60-100 phone calls per day
• Building relationships with customers to ensure payments are made without delays
• Identify reasons for non-payment and support the process to resolve these
• Escalate to the Legal Recoveries Manager any issues of concern
• Legal Action: Where necessary refer accounts for further action, providing all relevant detail to our 3rd Party partners
• Monitor legal action and recovery steps, supporting with any information requests and queries
• Seeking approval for further action where additional costs need to be considered
• Process Improvement: Continually challenge and question current processes to drive as streamlined service as possible, allowing us to deliver the best customer experience possible

  Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a credit control or debt collection role within a fast-paced, high-volume call environment
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to engage positively with customers
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to strict deadlines whilst managing multiple priorities
