Credit Controller

Location: Birmingham (On-site, 5 days per week during probation, then hybrid working)

Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are currently seeking a highly capable and experienced Credit Controller to join a dynamic finance team based in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong background in credit control, looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced, commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage a portfolio of B2B client accounts to ensure timely recovery of outstanding debts
  • Support the Credit Control Manager with day-to-day activities and reporting
  • Analyse aged debtor reports to identify risk areas and recommend appropriate recovery strategies
  • Advise clients on resolving arrears while maintaining strong professional relationships
  • Ensure all collections activity adheres to internal policies and compliance requirements
  • Process and reconcile sales ledger transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Work effectively to tight deadlines and manage priorities in a high-volume environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar Credit Control position, ideally within a B2B setting
  • Strong understanding of accounting techniques, particularly sales ledger functions
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Demonstrates key traits of a successful Credit Controller: resilience, tenacity, accuracy, and customer focus

Additional Information

  • This role is fully office-based during the probation period, moving to a hybrid working model thereafter
  • Salary up to £29,000, dependent on experience
