Job summary

Advanced Access Platforms Ltd is seeking a proactive Credit Controller to join our Finance Team at our Sutton head office. You will manage debtor balances, chase payments, and ensure accurate cash allocations in line with payment terms.

The role requires at least two years in a credit control function, strong numeracy and IT skills, and the ability to work under pressure within a supportive team environment. The position offers 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays and a company pension.

Responsibilities

• Reduce debt by collecting payments on time and within terms and credit limits.
• Ensure cash received is allocated to correct accounts and investigate underpayments/overpayments.
• Regularly reconcile accounts to ensure proper allocations.
• Build and maintain relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders.
• Arrange/attend meetings to reduce debt risk and address barriers to payment.
• Review overdue debt and identify write-off candidates under Bad Debt provision.
• Escalate contested or non-recoverable debts after recovery options are explored.
• Analyse Sales Ledger variances and agree action plans with the FD.

Job Title: Credit Controller

Location: Sutton, SM3

Salary: Up to £40K per year

Job type: Full Time - Permanent. 42.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday, 8am till 5.30pm.

We're looking for a proactive, resilient and innovative Credit Controller to join our Finance Team located at our Head Office in Sutton, SM3.

Our Creditor Controller will play a key part in the Business's income processing activity.

What you'll do:

• Reduce debt by collecting payments on time and within agreed payment terms and credit limits, using email, telephone and written follow-up.


• Ensure cash received is allocated to the correct accounts, and investigate, analyse and follow up on any underpayments or overpayments with the relevant team.


• Regularly reconcile accounts to ensure payments have been allocated correctly.


• Build and maintain effective relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders.


• Arrange and attend internal and external liaison meetings as needed to reduce debt risk and address barriers to payment.


• Review overdue historical debt and prepare reports identifying amounts that may qualify for write-off under the Bad Debt provision.


• Follow the escalation process for contested or non-recoverable debts after all recovery options have been explored, and present findings to the Finance Income Manager at scheduled debtor balance review meetings.


• Analyse Sales Ledger variances, identify potential issues, and agree action plans with our FD.
