Job summary

BSW Group is seeking an experienced Credit Controller based at the Halbeath Office. You will support the Finance team and report to the Credit Control Manager, handling debt collection, reporting, and onboarding of customers.

Responsibilities include managing credit insurance, writing provisions, and liaising with auditors. A background in credit control within the timber/forestry sector is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience developing end-to-end credit control and accounts receivable processes.
• Sound knowledge of Credit Law and corporate legislation.
• Excellent IT skills including MS Office.
• CICM or related financial qualification is advantageous but not required.

Job description

The role is Based in our Halbeath Office. As a Credit Controller, you will be an integral member of our Finance team reporting directly to our Credit Control Manager. You will be responsible for supporting the finance team with the maintenance of financial records, preparation of reports

Some responsibilities of a Credit Controller may include:

• Manage the debtors of a portfolio of customers including National accounts.
• Timely preparation of weekly/monthly management information, such as debt reporting, on credit controls for BSW Sawmills.
• Manage the onboarding of new customers within the accounting software.
• Manage credit insurance for your portfolio of customers.
• Identify & mitigate credit control risks, assisting with improving/enhancing existing systems & processes.
• Management of write-off and debt provisions, arranging payment plans for your portfolio of customers.
• Liaise, where applicable, with external stakeholders such as auditors and debt management agencies

About you:

Already an experienced Credit Controller, your proven people management skills allow you to not only build meaningful working relationships with your reporting lines, but a strong rapport with external business stakeholders. In addition, you’ll have:

• Experience developing and maintaining end-to-end credit control and accounts receivable processes; as well as identify and make improvements to existing processes.
• Sound knowledge of Credit Law and corporate legislations.
• Excellent IT skills, including a practical understanding of Microsoft packages.
• CICM or other related Financial Qualification(s) would be advantageous but not necessary.
