Job summary

Sharp Consultancy in Castleford seeks a Credit Controller to ensure debt is collected by due dates and in line with procedures. You will manage the accounts receivable ledger, monitor credit risk, and report on collection performance throughout the sales-order lifecycle.

Key duties include chasing debt by phone/email, maintaining debtor days, processing payments, setting up new customers, and advising on credit limits. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Actively chase debt via phone and email.
• Maintain regular contact with customers to minimise debtor days.
• Process sales credits, bank receipts and cheques.
• Establish new customer accounts per procedures.
• Inform sales team of customer account issues and monitor new orders.
• Manage customer credit limits and advise changes to the Commercial Director.
• Produce ad hoc credit control reports when required.
• Provide reception duties and answer overflow sales calls.

Working within a supportive but small accounts team in a business based in the Castleford area you will be working for an organisation who really value their employees and have created a fantastic work environment as a result.

As Credit Controller you will ensure that all customer debt is collected by its due date and in line with set company procedures.

You will be required to communicate to all customers and internal contacts to enable them to resolve any issues that may arise.

The main purpose of the role is to manage the accounts receivable ledger, monitoring and reporting the credit risk throughout the sales-order lifecycle and ensuring amounts due are collected in a timely manner.

Duties will include:

• Actively chase debt via phone and email correspondence.

• Keeping regular contact with customers to ensure average debtor days are minimised

• Process sales credits, bank receipts, and cheques

• Establish new customer accounts in line with company procedures

• Communicate any customer account issues to the sales team and monitor new orders

• Manage customer credit limits, report and make recommendations to the Commercial Director for changes

• Ad hoc credit control reports when required

• Provide some reception duties. Answering calls on sales overflow

The ideal individual with display the following attributes:

• Good Communicator – by telephone/email etc.

• Strong I.T skills and be proficient with Excel and Sage

• Strong negotiator / query resolution skills

• Able to work within set time frames
