Job summary

Axon Moore is partnering with a well-established business in Salford to recruit a Credit Control Team Leader. This role leads a team of 8 while remaining hands-on across the AR function, driving cash collection and performance through strong leadership and process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on Accounts Receivable or Credit Control experience, plus prior team leadership. Excellent communication and stakeholder management are essential in this fast-paced role.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Accounts Receivable or Credit Control experience.
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of collections, aged debt and dispute resolution.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Good Excel and systems experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• Interest in developing people and improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of 8, managing performance and priorities.
• Oversee AR/Credit Control processes to ensure cash collection and proactive debt management.
• Monitor KPIs such as cash collection, aged debt and DSO, acting as needed.
• Escalate complex queries, disputes, overdue accounts and payment issues.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers to resolve issues and improve cash flow.
• Review processes to improve efficiency, controls and AR performance.
• Produce and review regular reporting with clear commentary for senior Finance stakeholders.
• Support month-end activities and maintain accurate AR ledger.
