Job summary

Lenkie, headquartered in London with a remote-first culture, is seeking a Credit Analyst / Underwriter with 2–4 years SME underwriting experience to join our scaling team. You will focus on efficient processing and underwriting of loan applications to support fast growth.

As a core member of a lean team, you will help refine workflows, optimize decisioning engines and scorecards, monitor portfolio health and collaborate with Sales and Product/Tech to ensure a seamless customer journey from

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of direct SME underwriting experience.
• Experience at a UK SME fintech lender with data-driven credit assessment.
• Comfort handling a high volume of applications in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to articulate credit decisions to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Strong ability to analyze P&L statements, balance sheets, bank transactions, and credit reports.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end credit evaluation for SME applicants.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement speed-to-decision improvements.
• Help write the playbook for credit operations and contribute to risk frameworks.
• Monitor portfolio health and report on exposures.
• Collaborate daily with Sales and Product/Tech to ensure a seamless journey from application to drawdown.
• Provide data-driven feedback to automate checks and improve risk models.
