Job summary

BaxterStorey in London is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. You will prepare and cook dishes to recipes and standards, supervise your station, and uphold food safety throughout service.

You will collaborate with the head chef on menu development, maintain high quality and presentation, and coach junior chefs while supporting a positive kitchen culture and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards; ensure food safety at all times.
• Oversee dish production at your station and keep area stocked and clean per policies.
• Maintain high quality, with attention to presentation and taste.
• Communicate effectively with the team and support colleagues; coach junior chefs.
• Collaborate with head chef to develop and test new recipes.
• Keep kitchen area clean and equipment in good working order.
