Job summary

Novus, the LTE Group prison education provider at HMP Liverpool, is seeking a dedicated Performing Arts and PSD Teacher to deliver Personal Social Development sessions alongside Performing Arts to inspire resilience, independence and employability in learners.

This permanent, full-time role is 37 hours per week, with DBS checks and safeguarding at its core, offering the chance to support rehabilitation and progression for adults in custody while contributing to a trusted education team.

Qualifications

• Be passionate about supporting learners to achieve their potential and committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification within 12 months (i.e. PGCE).
• Hold a relevant PSD qualification, or have experience delivering education, training or personal development programmes.
• Background or teaching experience in Performing Arts (Desirable).
• Hold a minimum of Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
• Demonstrate ability to create stimulating, motivating learning environments.
• Track record of achieving targets and positive team working.
• Produce accurate and timely reports.
• Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills.
• Motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrate good organisational skills and prioritise workload.

Responsibilities

• Deliver PSD curriculum with a broad, engaging programme to build confidence and employability.
• Engage learners using Performing Arts techniques to support personal development.
• Create inclusive learning experiences and prepare learners for reintegration and lifelong learning.
