Job summary

Academics is seeking a Music Teacher to bring creativity to secondary classrooms in Cardiff. You will teach students to play instruments, read music, and contribute to school plays and workshops, with a supportive department for NQTs.

The role starts on 1 September 2026 and runs through to the end of the 2027/28 academic year. Salary is paid per day according to your pay grade, typically between £173 and £260 per day, with PAYE and no umbrella companies.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) is required.
• Valid DBS (can be processed through us).
• Registered with the Educational Workforce Council (EWC) or via us.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare effective schemes of learning and lessons.
• Use innovative teaching methods that support the national curriculum.
• Use regular assessments to monitor progress and set targets.
