Job summary

Just Teachers Ltd is seeking a creative Food Technology Teacher for a supportive secondary school in the Rotherham area. This full-time fixed-term maternity cover runs from September to December 2026, welcoming both Early Career Teachers and experienced staff to an inclusive department.

You will deliver practical and theory-based lessons, assess progress, and contribute to departmental planning within a well-resourced school with strong pastoral care.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree or qualification in Food Technology, DT, H&C or related subject.
• Proven experience teaching Food Technology in secondary schools.
• Strong knowledge of National Curriculum for KS3/KS4.
• Ability to plan engaging practical and theory lessons.
• Understanding of food hygiene, health and safety in classrooms.
• Two education/school-based references.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3-4.
• Prepare and organise practical lessons with safety procedures in place.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress per school policies.
• Differentiate activities to meet diverse student needs.
• Contribute to department planning and the wider school community.
