Job summary

Advinia is hiring a Chef at Haydale Care Home to craft daily meals for Residents, Staff and Visitors, working 20 hours a week. You’ll manage day-to-day kitchen operations, prepare meals to high standards and cater for events and dietary requirements.

The role requires 18+, GCSE English, City & Guilds in basic food preparation, Basic Food Hygiene (and Intermediate desirable). You’ll benefit from free parking, annual leave, wellbeing support and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old.
• GCSE English or equivalent.
• City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (Basic Food Preparation)
• Basic Food Hygiene (essential).
• Intermediate Food hygiene (desirable).
• Previous experience in a similar environment.
• Menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control and budget experience.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Maintaining food storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Preparing and cooking meals to high standard with dietary requirements.
• Serving Residents, Staff and Visitors with food and beverage professionally.
• Preparing and producing foods for events.
• Participating in food costing through cost control.
• Adhering to Safer Food Better Business standards and record keeping.
• Following Food Hygiene Regulations and safety procedures.
• Taking full shift responsibility for the catering operation.
• Help to create new menus ensuring meals are of high quality.
• Filing HACCP paperwork (fridge temps, logs, cleaning schedules).
