Job summary

Buchanan Lodge Care Home in Bearsden, North Glasgow, is seeking an Activities Coordinator on a part-time basis. You will design and deliver a varied, person-centred activities programme to promote wellbeing, social interaction and independence for residents, including those living with dementia.

You’ll work 30 hours over four days, with PVG paid, pension in place and uniforms provided. Training and support are offered to help you grow in the role within a warm, supportive team.

Qualifications

• A creative, organised and enthusiastic approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities.
• Genuine interest in supporting older people.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in activities or a similar role is beneficial; transferable skills from hospitality, events, childcare or community work encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs.
• Build strong relationships to understand preferences and support inclusive participation for all, including those living with dementia.
• Work as part of the wider team to create a positive, stimulating environment where residents feel valued, active and connected.
