Job summary

AVARA FOODS LIMITED is seeking a Cratewash / Despatch operative at our Hereford site. You will help achieve hygiene standards and support the team in meeting high hygiene levels across the site.

Shifts run 0700–1900 and 1900–0700 on a 3 on, 2 off pattern with a base pay of £13.15 per hour plus a shift allowance of £1.23. Candidates with basic hygiene training and manual handling awareness are preferred; forklift and pallet truck licences are desirable.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Food Manufacturing (desirable)
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate (desirable)
• Manual Handling training (desirable)
• Pallet Truck Licence (desirable)
• Fork Lift Truck Licence (desirable)

Responsibilities

• To fully understand and comply with all department and company policies and guidelines
• To meet housekeeping and hygiene standards individually and as part of a team
• Compliance with food safety and HSE guidelines; supporting cratewash duties and site improvements
• Complete all relevant paperwork to ensure traceability in the event of a process problem/issue
• Ensure stock is correctly rotated
• Complete schedule to supply crates and pallets
• Co-operate in the continuous improvement of quality, safety and productivity standards
• Handling/lifting of crates averaging 18kg; communication and working as part of a team
