Job summary

Avara Foods in Hereford is recruiting for a Cratewash/Despatch operative to join our team. You will help maintain high hygiene standards across the site and support cratewash duties to keep production flowing.

The role involves working 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00 shifts on a 3 on 2 off rota, with days and nights. A company shift allowance applies and you will be expected to handle crates averaging 18kg.

Qualifications

• Good communication and teamwork are essential.
• Ability to maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards.
• Understanding of food safety and HSE guidelines.
• Participate in cratewash duties and site improvements.
• Complete paperwork to ensure traceability of processes.
• Ensure stock is rotated and crates/pallets are supplied as scheduled.
• Handling/lifting crates averaging 18kg.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow all department and company policies.
• Meet housekeeping and hygiene standards as an individual and a team.
• Comply with food safety and HSE guidelines.
• Support cratewash duties and site improvements.
• Complete all relevant paperwork for traceability.
• Ensure crates and pallets are supplied according to schedule.
• Co-operate in continuous quality, safety and productivity improvements.
• Handle crates averaging 18kg.
