Job summary

Impact Recruitment Services is recruiting a Workshop Engineer for a family‑run crane specialist based in Rushden, Northamptonshire. The role focuses on fault finding, servicing and hands‑on repair of self‑erecting and city cranes, with occasional site visits and overnight stays.

You will work across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, carrying out checks and ensuring equipment safety and reliability while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum five years' engineering or maintenance experience.
• Strong multi-skilled ability in mechanical and electrical areas.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance and servicing of cranes.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Install and dismantle pedestrian-operated tower cranes.
• Support crane fleet maintenance and reliability.
• Perform engineering checks to ensure safety and readiness.
• Follow health and safety procedures during tasks.
• Work independently at the depot and on customer sites as needed.
• Occasional overnight stays for site work.
