Job summary

Mantis Cranes Ltd is seeking a skilled Service Engineer to join our Rushden-based team. You will service, maintain and repair our fleet of tower cranes and related equipment, with a focus on safety and customer service.

Based at the Rushden depot, you will diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance and keep comprehensive service records. You will work both in the workshop and on customer sites as needed, supporting the engineering team to deliver reliable service.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining heavy mechanical equipment such as heavy plant, powered access equipment, or military vehicles.
• Strong mechanical or electrical skills and a practical approach to fault finding.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing tower cranes, including self erectors and related equipment.

Job description

We're looking for a skilled Service Engineer to join our growing team. If you have experience maintaining heavy plant, agricultural machinery, HGVs, forklifts or construction equipment, we'd like to hear from you.

Previous tower crane experience isn't essential.

We're seeking someone with strong mechanical or electrical skills, a practical approach to problem-solving, and a willingness to learn. In return, we'll provide full specialist training on our equipment.

Based primarily at our Rushden depot, you'll be responsible for preparing, servicing and maintaining our fleet of cranes and associated equipment, helping ensure everything leaves our yard in first-class condition.

Every day is different, with a mix of workshop-based maintenance, fault finding and the occasional site visit.

What you'll be doing:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing tower cranes, including self erectors and associated equipment.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs both in the depot and occasionally on customer sites.
• Preparing equipment to the highest standard before it leaves the yard.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance to maximise reliability.
• Supporting the loading, unloading and storage of crane equipment.
• Maintaining service records and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Working closely with our experienced engineering team to deliver an excellent service to our customers.

What we're looking for:

You’ll ideally have experience maintaining heavy mechanical equipment, such as:

• Heavy plant
• Powered access equipment
• Military vehicles or similar
