Job summary

Westray Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Crane Service Manager to lead the Service Engineering Division at the Teesside branch. The role focuses on organizing daily operations, coordinating maintenance, and delivering outstanding customer service with safety and cost control in mind.

The ideal candidate will manage multiple sites, drive efficiency, and oversee budgets while ensuring compliance with RAMS and health & safety requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Service Manager, Engineering Manager, Crane Manager, Plant Manager or similar role.
• Electrical/Mechanical HNC or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of cranes, lifting equipment, industrial maintenance, or related engineering services.
• Excellent planning, organisational and leadership skills.
• Experience in budgeting, cost control and financial management.
• A strong customer-service mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Experience preparing RAMS and implementing safe systems of work.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Competency in service management software and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and coordinate the daily activities of the Service Engineering Division.
• Manage engineer workloads and ensure efficient deployment of resources.
• Schedule and oversee maintenance, inspection and repair activities.
• Ensure rapid and effective response to customer breakdowns and emergency call-outs.
• Monitor operational performance and continuously improve service delivery.
• Act as the primary point of contact for service customers.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and service excellence.
• Prepare service quotations, estimates and costings.
• Manage departmental budgets and financial performance.
• Oversee invoicing processes and ensure accurate and timely billing.
