Job summary

Astute People is seeking a Crane Service Engineer for its Teesside branch. The role involves servicing, maintaining and repairing overhead cranes and lifting equipment across customer sites, with a salary of £40,000-£48,000 and a company van. Working week is Monday to Friday (40 hours).

You will diagnose electrical faults, work at height, and engage with clients to ensure safety and operational improvements. A full UK driving licence and relevant electro-mechanical background are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in cranes or heavy industry electro-mechanical engineering.
• Electrical bias with fault-finding experience, including with and without drawings.
• Experience with three phase systems, motors, inverters, drives and gearboxes.
• Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical lifting systems.
• Overhead cranes/hoists experience preferred.
• Full UK driving licence; welding/fabrication experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain and repair overhead cranes and lifting equipment across customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults; fault-find and repair motors, inverters, drives, gearboxes.
• Carry out planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns at customer sites.
• Inspect equipment and identify safety or compliance issues; complete service reports and documentation.
• Carry out basic welding and fabrication tasks when required.
