Job summary

Briggs Equipment Group in Belfast is seeking a Crane Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on servicing, maintenance, and repair of gantry crane equipment across customer sites, ensuring safe working practices.

You will diagnose root causes, source parts, and ensure work complies with engineering standards, handing back safe equipment to customers. The ideal candidate has relevant technical qualifications and experience as crane or lift engineer with

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification for crane/lift roles.
• Previous experience in crane, lift or elevator roles with electrical bias.
• Good understanding of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical principals.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
• Understanding customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, performing regular maintenance, and repair of gantry crane equipment.
• Attending customer locations to determine the scope of work and ensure safety.
• Liaising with controller and customer on range of expected work, timescales and costs.
• Identifying root cause of a breakdown and obtaining correct parts.
• Ensuring all work complies with engineering standards.
• Carrying out inspection/checks on own work and ensuring equipment is safe before handing back.
