Job summary

Austin Dean Recruitment is assisting a private Bristol-based healthcare provider to appoint a Hospital Operations & CQC Registered Manager. This role offers hands-on leadership, regulatory accountability and direct governance influence to drive inspection readiness and patient care quality.

You will lead day-to-day operations, oversee compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards, manage staff, safety, and audits, and partner with clinical leaders to support growth and excellent patient pathways.

Qualifications

• Substantial management experience in a CQC-regulated healthcare environment.
• Current or previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager, or readiness to become registered.
• Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, governance, safeguarding, risk management, complaints and quality assurance.
• Experience maintaining regulatory compliance and inspection readiness.
• Strong people-management and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the CQC Registered Manager and ensuring regulatory readiness.
• Leading day-to-day operational management of the facility.
• Ensuring compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards and healthcare regulations.
• Leading governance, audits, risk management, incidents, complaints and improvement plans.
• Managing staff performance, attendance, and staff development.
• Overseeing recruitment, training, and workforce compliance.
• Maintaining health & safety, facilities and business continuity oversight.
• Supporting effective patient pathways and excellent patient experience.
• Collaborating with senior clinical leaders and other stakeholders.
• Monitoring financial performance and supporting growth plans.
