Job summary

Volantes Technical Recruitment is seeking a proactive CPMS Technical Support professional in Knaresborough to own the CPMS platform and the broader EV charging network. You will focus on uptime, reliability, and remote fault resolution, serving as the technical link between clients, OEM partners, the CPMS platform and field teams.

The ideal candidate communicates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and works autonomously to drive issues to resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience in a technical support or technical operations role.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues remotely.
• Experience in service-critical environments where uptime and reliability are key.
• Experience working with field engineering teams and external technical partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; good Microsoft Office skills (Word & Excel).
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• Flexible approach with the ability to see issues through to resolution.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the CPMS platform and EV charging network.
• Monitor and optimise charger performance, reliability and uptime.
• Diagnose and resolve faults remotely using CPMS data and system information.
• Analyse fault codes and performance data to identify root causes.
• Coordinate fault resolution with planners, engineers and technical teams.
• Act as the technical escalation point for complex system issues.
• Work with OEM partners on hardware, firmware and interoperability issues.
• Support new charger and site integrations into the CPMS environment.
• Develop and improve technical processes, workflows and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to field engineers during reactive callouts.
• Support team development, training and performance as the network grows.

About the Role

Volantes Technical Recruitment are looking for a proactive and technically minded CPMS Technical Support professional to take ownership of an EV Charging Point Management System (CPMS) and wider EV charging infrastructure network.

The role focuses on charger uptime, system reliability and remote fault resolution, acting as the technical link between clients, OEM partners, the CPMS platform and field engineering teams.

Requirements

Essential:

• Experience in a technical support or technical operations role.
• Proven experience diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues remotely.
• Experience in service-critical environments where uptime and reliability are key.
• Experience working with field engineering teams and external technical partners.

Desirable:

• Experience working with OEMs or hardware manufacturers.

• Experience within EV charging, energy, utilities or smart infrastructure.
• Experience with automation, scripting or platform optimisation.
