Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is supporting a UK-based ICP in finding an EVSE Technician to commission, maintain, and repair EV charging infrastructure across sites in the UK. You will work with AC Chargers and Rapid DC, Ultra, and HPC units, performing testing, fault-finding, and on-site guidance for clients.

The role requires a Level 3 Electro-Technical qualification and 2–5 years in electrical installation or maintenance, with a full UK driving licence and knowledge of electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Electro-Technical qualification or equivalent.
• 2–5 years’ hands-on electrical installation, maintenance, or repair.
• Experience with EV charging or related sectors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Commission and configure AC and Rapid DC EV chargers at client sites.
• Initial setup, testing, and validation to meet industry standards.
• Routine maintenance to maximise charger uptime and performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software faults.
• Provide on-site technical support and client guidance.
• Record all service activities in the service management system.
• Ensure work complies with health & safety regulations.

TGRC has partnered with a leading UK Independent Connection Provider (ICP) specialising in EV charging infrastructure. The business delivers end-to-end solutions that are helping to accelerate the UK’s transition towards a more sustainable, net-zero future.

As part of their continued growth, they are looking to hire an EVSE Technician to be responsible for the commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, including AC Chargers and Rapid DC, Ultra, and High-Power Charging (HPC) units across sites in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commission and configure AC and Rapid DC EV chargers at client sites.
• Carry out initial setup, testing, and validation to ensure equipment meets industry standards and manufacturer requirements.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance to maximise charger uptime, reliability, and performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software-related faults.
• Conduct diagnostic testing, firmware updates, and calibration of EV charging equipment.
• Replace faulty components or complete units in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Work closely with Service Coordination and Operations teams to ensure accurate job reporting and timely follow-up.
• Collaborate with project and installation teams to support the successful deployment of EV charging infrastructure.
• Provide on-site technical support and basic user guidance to clients.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, and company assets in good working condition.
• Accurately record all service and maintenance activities within the company’s service management system.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety regulations, electrical standards, and company procedures.
• Participate in ongoing training, safety programmes, and relevant certification initiatives.

Key Requirements:

• Level 3 Electro-Technical qualification, such as City & Guilds or equivalent.
• 2–5 years’ hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or repair.
• Experience working within SLA-driven environments.
• Familiarity with electrical test equipment, including multimeters and voltage testers.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex electrical faults.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and prioritise tasks.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Previous experience within the EV charging, renewable energy, or power electronics sectors.
• EV charging qualifications or manufacturer-specific training.
• Experience working with Rapid DC, Ultra-Rapid, or HPC EV chargers.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Understanding of analogue and digital electronics.
• Strong understanding and awareness of site-based health & safety requirements.
