An exciting opportunity has arisen at a Secondary School in St Austell. We are seeking a Secondary Teacher for general cover and PE cover. The ideal candidate would have experience teaching KS3/KS4 and be confident in covering different lessons including PE.

Purpose of Role:

• To implement and deliver a broad, balanced, personalised, and differentiated curriculum for students.
• To provide cover teaching for staff absence.
• To facilitate a learning experience that helps students achieve their potential.
• To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
• To support the school's responsibility for academic and personal development opportunities.
• To monitor and assess students' progress.
• To support students' overall development as a Form Tutor.

Teaching:

• To undertake teaching duties as per standard scale responsibilities.
• Plan lessons according to department schemes of learning.
• Ensure lessons are engaging and accessible.
• Collaborate with colleagues on unit planning.
• Incorporate numeracy and cross-curricular requirements.
• Use students' prior attainment to set future targets.
• Mark, grade, and provide feedback on student work.
• Apply suitable teaching strategies to meet diverse needs.
• Set work for absent students.
• Maintain discipline and adhere to school policies.
• Establish high expectations for behaviour and work presentation.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants.
• Contribute to assessments, reports, and references.
• Conduct student assessments as required.
• Create a stimulating learning environment and ensure effective communication with parents and external bodies.

Pastoral:

• Monitor and support students' progress and development.
• Assist in monitoring attendance and performance against targets.
• Act as a Form Tutor and fulfill related duties.
• Contribute to the school's moral and ethical policies.
• Support the implementation of Behaviour Management strategies.
