Cover Supervisor – Primary School in Southend

Are you an adaptable, proactive, and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting children in their learning? Our friendly and dynamic Primary School, located in Southend, is looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to play a key role in ensuring continuity of learning while contributing to a supportive and positive school environment.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during short-term absences of teachers, ensuring that students remain on task, and providing support for their learning. You will work with a range of classes across different year groups, ensuring that the students are engaged and productive in their lessons.

Key Responsibilities:
· Supervise and manage classes during teacher absence, ensuring that students remain focused and engaged
· Implement pre-set lesson plans and manage classroom activities
· Support students with their learning, providing assistance as needed
· Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, ensuring behaviour standards are upheld
· Provide feedback to teachers on student progress, behaviour, and any issues during cover periods
· Support with administrative tasks as required

The ideal candidate will:
· Have experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting
· Be confident in managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a productive learning environment
· Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work with children of different ages and abilities
· Be flexible, adaptable, and able to work well under pressure
· Show a genuine passion for education and helping children succeed
· Hold a relevant qualification or experience, although no formal teaching qualification is required
