Job summary

Tradewind Education is recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Secondary Cover Supervisors to work across our partnership secondary schools in the Barnsley area from September.

Ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience working with young people seeking classroom experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged students is desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Confidence leading a classroom independently.
• Flexible, professional, and positive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Ability to travel to schools across the Barnsley area.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-set lesson plans across a range of secondary subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Ensure students remain engaged and complete the work set.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Report back to teaching staff on student progress, behaviour, and lesson outcomes.
• Adapt confidently to different school environments and year groups.
