Job summary

TradeWind Education is seeking Cover Supervisors to support partnership secondary schools across the Worksop area. Flexible opportunities include day-to-day, short-term, and long-term placements to suit your availability and career goals.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, and maintain a positive, safe classroom environment while supporting students aged 11–16. You’ll report outcomes to teaching staff and adapt to school policies.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident managing groups of 11–16 year-olds.
• Calm, professional and adaptable in classroom environments.
• Strong organisational skills and a positive attitude.
• Experience with young people in education, coaching, or youth work is desirable.
• Degree or relevant qualifications desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS check preferred or held.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term teaching staff absences.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and keep students engaged.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Support students with their learning and promote high standards of conduct.
• Report back to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and issues during the day.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain engaged with their learning.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Support students with their learning while promoting high standards of conduct.
• Report back to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and any issues arising during the day.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking individuals who:

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Are confident managing groups of young people aged 11-16.
• Can remain calm, professional, and adaptable in a classroom environment.
• Have strong organisational skills and a positive attitude.
• Have experience working with young people in education, coaching, youth work, or similar settings (desirable but not essential).
• Hold a degree or relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential).
• Are willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or already hold one on the Update Service).
