Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced Cover Supervisor for a mainstream secondary school in Dudley. The role involves supervising classes across the secondary age range, delivering pre-planned work and using IT tools to support lesson delivery while maintaining high standards of behaviour.

The successful candidate will have strong classroom management, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a flexible, reliable, proactive approach to adapt to daily placements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar classroom-based role within a secondary school.
• Proven experience managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Strong IT skills, including confidence using school systems, interactive whiteboards and digital learning resources.
• Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects.
• Excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills.
• A flexible, reliable and proactive approach, with the ability to manage challenging situations confidently.

Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Location: Stourbridge/West Midlands

Start Date: November 2026

Salary: £110 - £180 per day

Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor with strong classroom and behaviour management skills?

Do you have excellent IT skills and the confidence to use technology effectively in a secondary school classroom?

Are you adaptable, reliable and able to confidently manage challenging behaviour while keeping students engaged with their learning?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Secondary School based in Dudley. The school provides a supportive learning environment with a focus on maintaining high expectations, promoting positive behaviour and encouraging students to engage with their education.

The school is looking for an experienced Cover Supervisor for long-term placements, with flexible day-to-day work also available. The successful Cover Supervisor will supervise classes across the secondary age range, deliver pre-planned work, confidently manage classroom behaviour and use their strong IT skills to support lesson delivery and ensure students remain focused and engaged.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar classroom-based role within a secondary school
• Proven experience managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Strong IT skills, including confidence using school systems, interactive whiteboards and digital learning resources
• Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
