Job summary

Rainhill High School seeks a dedicated Cover Supervisor and Performing Arts Technician to supervise lessons when needed and support the Performing Arts department. You will oversee equipment, costumes and contribute to the extra-curricular program while covering Performing Arts and other subjects as required.

The role requires prior school experience, strong behaviour management, and a commitment to safeguarding students, with opportunities to develop in a supportive MAT environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working in a school setting with children and young people is essential.
• Excellent behaviour management skills and ability to provide effective classroom supervision.
• Involvement in supporting Performing Arts activities and extra-curricular programme.

Responsibilities

• Cover lessons in the Performing Arts department and other subjects as needed during absences.
• Oversee equipment and costumes for Performing Arts.
• Assist in organising cover for absent staff and provide Performing Arts related admin support.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well organised and committed Cover Supervisor to join our team who has excellent behaviour management skills and can provide effective classroom supervision to support learning and teaching when required to cover for short term staff absences, ensuring that the educational provision for students is maintained to the highest standard of attainment and achievement in the absence of their regular teacher. You will also have a crucial Performing Arts role in overseeing equipment, costumes and contributing to the extra-curricular programme and supporting our Performing Arts teachers. You will also cover lessons in the Performing Arts department and other lessons across the school during periods of absence. You will also assist in supporting organising cover for absent staff when required and other Performing Arts related admin support .
