Job summary

Rainhill High School is seeking a proactive Cover Supervisor and PE Technician to support learning across the school. You will supervise classes, follow lesson plans, and ensure effective behaviour management when teachers are absent.

You will also oversee PE equipment, assist in delivering the extracurricular programme and support Duke of Edinburgh activities. With a strong commitment to safeguarding and a desire to make a difference, you will work in a supportive environment with opportunities

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well organised and committed Cover Supervisor to join our team who has excellent behaviour management skills and can provide effective classroom supervision to support learning and teaching when required to cover for short term staff absences, ensuring that the educational provision for students is maintained to the highest standard of attainment and achievement in the absence of their regular teacher. You will also have a crucial PE role in overseeing equipment, contributing to the extra-curricular programme and supporting our PE teachers. You will also cover lessons in the PE department and other lessons across the school during periods of absence. You will also assist in supporting organising cover for absent staff when required and other PE related admin support . Purpose of the post:

• To provide classroom cover and supervision during the short term absence of teachers with agreed lesson plans in place across the school by allocation from the Cover Manager and Head of PE.
• To work with and supervise individuals and groups of students under the direction/instruction of teaching and senior staff, inclusive of specific individual learning needs. Enabling access to learning for all pupils.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of daily cover for staff absence as required.
• Provide administrative and PE assistance cover as required.
• To support the PE department in the delivery of the extra curricular programme and the schools Duke of Edinburgh programme.
