Job summary

Randstad Education in the UK is seeking a Cover Supervisor in the Southampton/Hampshire area to supervise KS3-4 students across subjects during teacher absences, helping maintain a positive learning environment.

Ideal for recent graduates and aspiring teachers, the role offers fixed hours from 8:30 to 3:30, term time only, with no planning or marking, and opportunities to gain classroom confidence and progress toward PGCE or SCITT programs while following safeguarding policies.

Qualifications

• Degree level or higher required or equivalent
• Experience tutoring, youth work, mentoring or volunteering is beneficial
• Confidence, communication, resilience and a proactive attitude are essential
• An Enhanced DBS with Update Service (or willingness to apply) is required

Responsibilities

• Supervise KS3-4 students across subjects during teacher absences
• Maintain a positive, orderly classroom environment supporting student learning
• Deliver prepared work and ensure students stay on task
• Collect completed work and provide constructive feedback on progress and behaviour
• Uphold school policies on behaviour management and safeguarding
