Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support secondary schools in the Southampton area. Perfect for recent graduates aiming to gain hands-on classroom experience without long-term teaching commitments.

You will supervise KS3 and KS4 classes during teacher absences, maintain a positive learning environment, and deliver pre-set work while following safeguarding policies. A degree and enhanced DBS are required, with opportunities to progress into PGCE or SCITT.

Qualifications

• Degree level or higher education qualification.
• Recent graduates encouraged to apply.
• Experience with young people (tutoring, youth work, coaching or volunteering).

Responsibilities

• Supervise secondary school students (KS3 & KS4) across various subjects during teacher absences.
• Maintain a positive, orderly, and productive classroom environment where students feel supported.
• Deliver prepared work set by the department and ensure students stay on task.
• Collect completed work and provide constructive feedback on student progress and behaviour.
• Uphold school policies regarding behaviour management and safeguarding at all times.
